About Me.

Crossville native. Seamstress. Cosplayer. Hiker. Cat lover.
Like anyone, I am many things, but to you, I hope to offer excellent alteration and seamstress skills to our community. I have over 10 years of sewing and crafting experience, and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
If you had told me growing up that I would own my own alterations business, I wouldn't have believed you. Because I wanted to own my own ice cream shop instead.
This business wouldn't be possible without the wonderful support of my husband, my family, my friends, and all of my wonderful customers recommending me.

My Sewing Journey

2013-2015

Learning the Basics

In highschool, my mom made sure I got the home economics class that she got in highschool. So, she made me learn the basics of sewing. How to hem, sew on a button, make a pillow cover, and follow a simple pattern.

2015-Now

Cosplay

I got into cosplay, costumes, and conventions. I couldn't always buy them, so why not make them? Cosplay has taught me pattern making, pattern drafting, working with different fabrics and textiles, and most importantly, trying again after messing up.

2019-Now

Clothing Alterations

I had already started altering clothing for me and my husband. It then began to grow in friends asking for alterations. Then alterations for their friends. That is when I began to realize the need for alteration services in our community.

MARCH 2021

A Business Was Made

In March of 2021, Sew What? officially became a business. In July 2022, I was able to move my business out of my home into the perfect little store front.

MARCH 2025

A Chapter Closed

After four amazing years, I had to make the bittersweet decision to close Sew What. It was an incredible journey, and I am beyond grateful for every client who trusted me with their alterations, custom projects, and creative visions. Your loyalty, support, and recommendations have meant the world to me!

While this chapter is coming to an end, my love for sewing isn’t. I’ll still be stitching away as a hobby.

Thank you for being a part of this adventure with me. It’s been an honor to sew for you!
